Wiring Diagram:

The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the resistance of the fuel level sensor (tank sender) to calculate the amount of fuel in the tank and provides a voltage to the tank sender through a resistor network and a return to PCM ground.

DTC PARAMETERS
DTC P0461 will set if the fuel level changes by less than 2% while driving 30 miles.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Using Scan tool, monitor fuel level voltage while rocking vehicle back and forth. Voltage will fluctuate in a normal operating system.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
^ Mechanically stuck fuel sender assembly.
^ Damage or perforated fuel sender float.
