Condenser, Z19DTR

IMPORTANT: The A/C receiver and the compressor oil absorb moisture from the air, which can then not be removed. Plug all connections that are opened immediately.

To remove

1. Put the car on a lift.
2. Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system.
3. Remove the front bumper shell.
4. Remove the nut (A) for the right-hand side cover.






5. Remove the screws (A) for the right-hand headlight and unplug the connector (B).






6. Remove the clips (A) and lift away the air pipe (B).






7. Remove the screws (A) holding the receiver to the radiator.






8. Remove the nuts (A) from the PAD connections.






9. Remove the condenser's upper screws (B).
10. Lift up the condenser from the lower supports (C). At the same time, pull the PAD connections out of the condenser. Plug the openings.
11. Lower the condenser.

To fit

1. Adjust the oil quantity in the A/C system.
2. Fit new seals on the PAD connections.
3. Move the condenser up to its position and down into the lower supports (C). Attach the PAD connections to the condenser at the same time.






4. Fit the condenser's upper screws (B) to the charge air cooler.
5. Tighten the nuts (A) for the PAD connections.

Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft)

6. Fit the screws (A) holding the receiver to the radiator.






7. Fit the air pipe (B) and its clips (A).






8. Plug in the connector (B) for the right-hand headlight and fit the screws (A).






9. Fit the nut (A) for the right-hand side cover.






10. Fit the front bumper shell.
11. Vacuum pump and fill the A/C system with refrigerant.
12. Check the performance of the A/C system. See A/C system performance test.
