Changing Transmission Fluid B2841. Place the car on a lift. Make sure it is as level as possible. Engage P and apply the handbrake. If using a ramp, chock the wheels. Connect an exhaust extractor. Raise the car.
Warning: The oil can be very hot if the car was recently driven. Risk of burn injuries.
2. Place a receptacle under the car. Drain the transmission fluid through the drain plug. Remove the dipstick tube's plug first to allow access with an Allen key.
3. Fit the drain plug with a new seal. Fit also the level plug.
Tightening torque, drain plug 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
4. Lower the car to the floor.
5. 5. LHD: Remove the battery and the battery tray.
6. Remove the filler plug. Use 87 92 723 Access tool and a suitable sleeve.
7. Fill with 3 liters of transmission fluid as specified, see Weight, fluid capacity and grade of fluid, and fit the filler plug.
Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
8. LHD: Fit the battery tray and the battery.
9. Carry out Checking/Adjusting the fluid level B284. Only carry out "Checking at a fluid temperature between 30° ± 45° or 80° - 90°
10. Lower the car to the floor.
11. Disconnect Tech2 and the exhaust extractor.
12. LHD: Carry out Measures after disconnecting the battery.
