Rear Catalytic Converter, 4WD



Rear Catalytic Converter, B284, 4WD

To remove
1. Raise the car.
2. Undo the nuts on the exhaust pipe clamp (A).

IMPORTANT: Be careful with the flexible part. It must not be bent by more than 5 degrees.





3. Remove the rubber mountings (B).
4. Suspend the rear exhaust pipe with 83 95 212 Strap (C) and remove the rubber mounting (D).





5. Remove the nuts (E) of the front catalytic converter.





6. Lower the exhaust system slightly and remove the front pipe complete with catalytic converter.

To fit
1. Fit the front pipe complete with catalytic converter.
2. Fit the flange with new gasket and new nuts (E) to the front catalytic converter.

Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)

3. Fit the rubber mountings (B), replacing any that require replacement.





4. Tighten the clamp nut (A).

Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

5. Loosen 83 95 212 Strap (C) and fit the rubber mounting (D).





6. Lower the car.
7. Connect exhaust hoses and start the engine. Check that the exhaust system does not leak.
