Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation
Fuel Pump Relay (102), T8
Location
Fuel pump relay (102)
Main task
The relay feeds the fuel pump and the oxygen sensor preheating.
Type
Connection
The fuel pump relay is controlled from pin 51(A), which supplies B+ when the relay triggers. When the ignition is switched "ON", the fuel pump relay triggers for 1 second. This builds up pressure before pre-injection, which takes place when the crankshaft begins to rotate.
When the crankshaft then rotates, relay 7 is pulled until the ignition leaves the ON position or the crankshaft stops rotating.
