SID Message "Left/Right Dipped Beam Failure"

Cars with halogen headlamps.

Background
In most cases the lamp has broken, but in some cases the message may be shown incorrectly due to a software fault in the UEC.

Fault symptom
SID message: "left/right dipped beam failure"
Tech2 message: "Dipped beam, open circuit". Diagnostic trouble code B2575 or B2699 are stored in the UEC history.

Procedure

Note: The following action must be taken. Bulbs or UEC must not be replaced if the action solves the problem.

Carry out SPS programming of the UEC to update the software.
