Background
Engine control module software has been updated in order to rectify certain driveability problems.
In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.
Symptom description
Uneasy engine running with cold starting
Jerky idling speed with engine at operating temperature
US/CA: Radiator fan often running despite cold engine
US/CA: Diagnostic trouble code: P050C
Procedure
1. Determine the software number in question.
2. Connect Tech2 and perform the update. The ECM software is available on IRIS from and including TIS2000 edition 2006-2 update 3 or TIS2000 edition 2006-3.
