Ball Joint, Upper Transverse Link

To Remove





1. Raise the car and remove the rear wheel on the side in question.
2. Unbolt the transverse link from the longitudinal link and place a spacer between the upper and lower transverse links.
3. Press out the ball joint using Press tool 89 96 761 with tool KM-906 (KM-906-70, KM-906-61 KM-906-62).

To Fit





1. Press in the ball joint using Press tool 89 96 761 with tool KM-906 (KM-906-70, KM-906-63 KM-906-64).
2. Tighten the bolt securing the transverse link to the longitudinal link.
Tightening torque 90 Nm + 60° (70 ft. lbs. + 60°).
3. Fit the wheel.
Tightening torques
aluminium rim 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.)
pressed steel rim 50 Nm + 2 x 90°, max. 110 Nm (37 ft. lbs. + 2 x 90°, max. 81 ft. lbs.)
Lower the car to the floor.
