Fuel Gauge

Fault symptoms
The fuel gauge indicates a larger amount of fuel in the tank than the actual amount of fuel.

Condition
The baffle plate has loosened from its original position in the tank and affects the fuel gauge.

To check
Check that the baffle plate is properly positioned in the tank.

Procedure
If the baffle plate does not have the proper position in the tank, mount it correctly.

A new baffle plate (part no. 3 29 016) should be fitted in cars within the VIN range 23002133.
