Electrically Adjustable Passenger Seat Not Working
Fault symptoms
- The seat can be operated irrespective of the ignition key position or door position. The battery discharges in the end.
- The seat cannot be operated in one or more directions.
Conditions
Faulty relay (446P) or fault in wiring harness.
Faulty relay (446P), alternatively, break or short-circuit in wiring harness.
Diagnostic help
The control module output can be activated using the diagnostic tool.
If the seat can be operated in one or more directions, the fault probably lies in the switch (357P), the motors or the wiring harness.
If the seat cannot be operated, the fault probably lies in the relay (446P), the switch (357P) or the wiring harness. Also check fuse 11.
Check the wiring
Move the wiring harness at several locations and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool during the check.
