Whistling noise from brake servo system
Cars affected
Saab 9-5 M01-M05 within VIN interval 13000001 - 53526235 with engine option B205/B235 and manual gearbox.
Background
In some cases, the upper engine cover makes a hole in the brake servo vacuum hose.
In the case of customer complaint, the following procedures must be carried out.
Symptom description
Whistling noise from the brake servo system in the engine compartment.
Parts required
52 30 495 (CA: 30586636) Vacuum hose LHD
52 30 503 Vacuum hose LHD
Procedure
1. Remove the upper engine cover.
2. Use a knife or the like to remove all of the edging in the engine cover. See illustration. Be sure not to leave any sharp edges.
3. Replace the vacuum hose.
4. Fit the upper engine cover.
