Main Unit

NOTE: The following method applies if the car is equipped with a navigation system: Control panel, Nav/Audio.

To remove






1. Connect Tech 2.
2. Establish communication with the audio system.
3. Select "Programming" from the system menu.
The text "Marriage/Divorce" is displayed.

4. Press "ENTER".

5. Select "DIVORCED" with the change button and press "OK"
"DIVORCED" must be selected when removing the main unit (to be installed in another car or to be returned for warranty repair).

6. The radio should go silent after a slight delay and "RADIO CODE" is displayed on SID.
7. Press both special tools into the holes provided for them in the main unit. Press the tools in until they lock, at which point a click will be heard.
8. Extract the main unit using the tool handles. Remove the special tools.

To fit

NOTE: Check that the attachment hooks on the short ends of the main unit are not damaged (bent in).

1. Push the main unit into the space provided for it in the centre console until a click is heard.
2. While Tech 2 is connected and communicating with the audio system, select "Programming" from the system menu.
The text "Marriage/Divorce" is displayed.

3. Press "ENTER"

4. Select MARRIED with the change button and press"OK".
"MARRIED" must be selected when installing a main unit into a Saab 9-5.

5. "RADIO CODE" disappears from SID and the sound returns after a slight delay.

WARNING: The CD player in the main unit is a Class 1 laser product.
The CD player in the main unit should only be serviced and repaired by a qualified technician.
If the casing on the main unit is damaged, there could be laser radiation with risk of injury.
