General
RDS (Radio Data System) is an information system transmitted in Europe in parallel with the radio programmes on the FM band. The RDS system ensures that reception is always optimal, irrespective of location. The RDS function automatically searches for the best transmitter.

Function
The RDS radio contains a double tuner. This improves the quality of RDS reception, as one tuner is used solely to decode RDS information and the other solely for the reception of audio information. Changeover interruptions in reception remain, therefore, minimal, and changes in frequency inaudible.
