Output Shaft Speed Sensor

Output shaft speed sensor

To remove
1. Place covers over the wings to keep the paintwork clean and protect it from damage.





2. Remove the battery cover.





3. Remove the battery, coolant pipe, main fuse box and bonnet switch.





4. Unplug the control module connector. Unplug the connectors under the control module. Remove the battery tray.






5. Unplug the speed sensor connector. Remove the output shaft speed sensor.

To fit





1. Fit the speed sensor and plug in the connector.





2. Plug in the connectors under the control module. Plug in the control module connector and fit the battery tray.





3. Fit the bonnet switch, main fuse box and coolant pipe. Fit the battery.





4. Fit the battery cover.
5. Remove the wing covers.

Gear position panel with cover strip

To remove
1. Engage D with the selector lever.





2. Turn the locking sleeve slightly clockwise and press down. Hold in the release button on the selector lever and pull up the knob. Lift up the locking sleeve.





3. Carefully prise up the outer panel with 82 93 474 Removal tool as illustrated.





4. Remove the panel holder by undoing the screw, lift and pull back on the panel holder.
5. Release the side catch on the inner panel and detach the ribbon cable from the holder.
6. Unplug the connector and remove the panel. (Disregard this step if changing only the cover strip.)





7. Pull out the cover strip from the panel housing.

To fit





1. Fit the cover strip into the panel housing.
2. Connect the ribbon cable connector.
3. Lay the panel over the gear lever and attach the ribbon cable to the cable holder.





4. Press the panel onto the catches and fit the panel holder and the screw.





5. Fit the locking sleeve onto the selector lever. Move the selector lever to D. Hold in the release button and press on the selector lever knob.
6. Fit the locking sleeve to the gear lever knob in the same way as it was removed.
7. Fit the outer panel.
8. Check that the different gear positions can be engaged.
