Adjusting gear cables

To remove
1. Engage 4th gear on the gearbox.





2. Undo the gear lever cover with rubber mat and lift up the cover. Use 82 93 474 Removal tool.
3. Carefully press down a screwdriver blade in the cable adjuster and prise slightly towards the gear lever. A click is heard which means that the adjustment catch has released.





4. Secure the gear lever in its adjustment position by lifting the adjusting sleeve while pressing in the two catches. Use a pair of pliers. Let the catch engage in the adjusting position (position 4). Check that 4th gear is engaged in the gearbox.
5. Carefully press the screwdriver against the crescent shaped section of the adjustment catch. When a click is heard the catch has engaged the correct position. Repeat for the other cable adjuster.
6. Lift up the adjuster sleeve to its normal position.
7. Check the shifting positions.





8. Fit the gear lever cover and rubber mat.
