Gearcase, sealTo remove
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Fit the gearbox on KM-6115 or 87 92 228 Holder, transmission. Fit the gearbox with KM-6115 on KM-113-2 or78 74 878 Floor stand
3. Drain off the gearbox oil by positioning a collecting vessel underneath. Remove the oil drain screw and drain the gearbox oil. Tighten the oil drain screw.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove the drive shaft sealing rings.
5. Remove the gearchange unit by removing the bolts (arrows). Remove the gearchange unit, if necessary, tap it carefully with a rubber mallet.
6. Remove the freewheel clutch.
7. Remove the gearcase by removing the bolt (arrow) in the clutch housing.
8. Turn the gearbox upward (90°).
9. Remove the other bolts. Detach the gearcase carefully at the mountings and remove it using a crowbar.
10. Clean the sealing surfaces.
To fit
1. Apply sealing compound.
Note: Following application of the sealing compound the gearcase must be bolted together within two minutes. The sealing surfaces must be free of dust and grease. Apply sealing compound approximately 2 mm wide on the sealing surface.
2. Fit the gearcase bolted joints without tightening.
3. Fit the bolt (arrow) in the clutch housing. Tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque, M8 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
Tightening torque, M10 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
4. Fit the freewheel clutch, see Clutch assembly .
5. Fit the gearchange unit with a new sealing ring. Tighten the bolts (arrows).
Tightening torque: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
6. Fit the drive shaft sealing rings.
7. Remove the gearbox from KM-113-2. Remove KM-6115 from the gearbox and KM-113-2.
8. Fit the gearbox..
9. Fill with gearbox oil, see Summary of lubricants and sealants.
