The type designation for manual gearboxes is divided into 4 groups of characters as in the following example:

F40 6 WR 335

The four character groups are separated by spaces and contain different information about the gearbox as specified below.

First Group F40:
F40 Manual, front-wheel drive, 400 Nm torque capacity

Second Group 6:
6 6-speed

Third and Fourth Groups: A 12345
WR Wide Ratio gear ratio
335 Final drive gear = 3.35
