Antitheft System - 'Add BCM' Procedure

Modified anti-theft alarm configuration

This bulletin describes how "Add BCM" is to be carried out in order to prevent faults from arising in the anti-theft alarm system.

Cars affected
Saab 9-3 (9440) M04- with anti-theft alarm

Background

The lock of the fuel filler flap has been eliminated as of M04. During the course of M04, the ultrasound sensor that was previously part of the anti-theft alarm system was also eliminated.

Once "Add BCM" has been carried out, it is important to select the correct parameters for the anti-theft alarm's configuration in order to prevent faults in the anti-theft alarm system.

Symptom description

If the incorrect parameters are selected, the message "ALARM FAILURE, CONTACT WORKSHOP" in SID.

The following DTCs could occur in BCM: B3095, B3812 and B3938.

Note
The fault symptom first arises when the anti-theft alarm has been armed by locking with the remote control.

Procedure








The selections shown for anti-theft protection should be selected in Tech2 when "Add BCM" is carried out.
