Left Engine Mounting

Engine mounting, left-hand
To remove
1. Place drapes over the wings to keep the paintwork clean and protect it from damage. Raise the car.
2. CV: Remove the cross brace.
3. Undo the bolts on the power steering pipe clamps on the subframe.





4. Fit 83 96 152 Centring tool, power train on the subframe.





5. Undo the rear bolts securing the torque arm.





6. Lower the car.
7. Remove the battery cover, cooler pipe and battery.





8. Press in the catch, detach and move aside the relay holder.
9. Aut: Unplug the connectors to the TCM and the connector under the TCM. Remove the cover with the TCM and move it aside.





10. Unplug the bonnet switch connector and remove the battery tray.
11. Remove the ground cable from the engine mounting.





12. Remove the engine pad bolts from the gearbox bracket.





13. Remove the bolts on the gearbox bracket. lift the bracket out forward. Aut:Lift the bracket out backward.
14. Remove the engine pad bolts from the body.
15. Remove the engine bracket and engine pad.

Fitting of right-hand torque arm
1. Fit the engine pad into place. Tighten.
Tightening torque 15 Nm + 30° (11 ft. lbs. + 30°)





2. Fit the gearbox bracket.
Tightening torque 70 Nm + 90° (52 ft. lbs. + 90°)
3. Raise the car and adjust the centring drift guide bolts until the slits on the bolts are visible.
4. Lower the car and fit the bolts securing the engine pad to the bracket.
Tightening torque 70 Nm + 45° (52 ft. lbs. + 30°)
5. Fit the ground cable to the engine pad.





6. Fit the battery tray and plug in the bonnet switch connector.





7. Fit the cover with the TCM. Plug in the connector under the TCM and the connectors to the TCM.
8. Fit the relay holder.
9. Fit the battery, cooler pipe and battery cover.





10. Raise the car and remove 83 96 152 Centring tool, power train from the subframe.





11. Fit the bolts on the power steering pipe clamps on the subframe.





12. Tighten the rear bolts securing the torque arm.
Tightening torque 70 Nm + 90° (52 ft. lbs. + 30°)





13. CV: Fit the cross brace.
14. Lower the car and remove the wing protectors.
15. Carry out Procedures after reconnecting the battery
