TCS/ESP Missing on Bus







Fault symptom
- Check Engine
- Cruise control not working.
- Messages shown in SID.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition on for at least 3 s.
- Battery voltage must be between 6 - 18 V.

Fault criteria:
- No communication with TCS/ESP for 1.25 s.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- Cruise control blocked.

OK report:
- Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 2 s.

Fault handling:
Type III
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

- Electrical fault on bus leads or in the component.
