EVAP System. Fuel Level Sensor Failure and Pressure Sensor Performance Problem

Fault symptom
- Check Engine

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Once per driving cycle. Stopped when fault criteria are fulfilled or OK reported.

Enable criteria:
- Engine running.
- Coolant temperature over 4 degree C.
- Intake air temperature over 4 degree C.

- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected:
- P0444, P0445
- P0452, P0453
- P0498, P0499

Fault criteria:
- Tank pressure alternates more quickly than that which can be caused by sloshing of the petrol. More than 15 pressure changes of more than 25 Pa for 5 s.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- The control module uses a substitute value of 0 kPa.

OK report:
- Diagnostics carried out without fault reported.

Fault handling:
Type III
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
