Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit. Short to B+ / Open Circuit.







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Engine running and not in limp home mode.

Fault criteria:
- Oil temperature sensor circuit is short-circuited to B+ or open for more than 1 s.

System reaction to a fault:

If the DTC remains during several test cycles:
- Oil temperature not updated; indicates latest value.
- Oil temperature set to 80 degrees.
- Excluded Lock-Up function.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help

- Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.
