Clutch Switch Input Circuit Malfunction
Fault symptom
- Cruise control not working.
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous
Enable criteria:
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
- Manual gearbox.
- Vehicle speed has not been reduced from 50 to 3 km/h (31 to 2 mph) within a period of 2 s.
Fault criteria:
- No status change for the clutch switch when vehicle speed has increased from 3 - 50km/h (2 - 31 mph).
- A DTC is generated if this occurs 4 consecutive times.
Dependent:
- None
System reaction to a fault:
- Cruise control switched off.
OK report:
- Status change for the clutch switch has occurred.
Fault handling:
- Type III without Check Engine.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
