T8 was Missing on Bus







Fault symptom
- Engine does not start.
- Message in SID regarding TCM and TCS/ESP.
- All values in MIU are frozen.
- No communication with the engine management system.
- Cruise control not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition on for at least 3 s.
- Battery voltage must be between 6 - 18 V.

Fault criteria:
- No communication with CIM and TCS/ESP for 1.4 s.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- Cruise control blocked.
- The control module uses substitute value +20 degree C for outside temperature.
- The control module deactivates the output to the A/C relay.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help
- In order to read DTC from Trionic 8, communication with CIM is required. If the DTC is stored and read with the diagnostic instrument, it indicates intermittent bus-lead fault.
