Fault symptom
- Incorrect display of fuel level
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous
Enable criteria:
General conditions for this DTC
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
- Engine running.
- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected:
- P0462, P0463
Test 1
- Fuel level between 2 - 53 litres.
Test 2
- Fuel level over 53 litres.
Fault criteria:
Test 1
- No change of sensor value over a distance of 25 km.
Test 2
- No change of sensor value over a distance of 150 km.
Dependent:
- None
System reaction to a fault:
- The control module uses a substitute value of 40 litres when fault is detected.
OK report:
- When the fault criterion is NOT fulfilled.
Fault handling:
- Type III without Check Engine.
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)
Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
