Charge Air Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Short to Ground / Open.







Fault symptom

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Limp home
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.

Fault criteria:
- When voltage on input below 0.30 V for more than 1.0 s.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- Torque limited to max. 140 Nm.
- Boost pressure adaption blocked.
- The control module uses a substitute value that is a function of atmospheric pressure, engine speed and damper area.

OK report:
- When fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 2 s.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

- Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.
