Injector 3 Circuit, Open/Short







Fault symptom
- Engine misfires or does not start.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
- Main relay voltage exceeds 6 V.
- Starter motor cranking or engine running.

Fault criteria:
- When voltage on output is below 5.5 V when inactive or exceeds 5.5 V when active.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- Closed loop is blocked.
- Fuel adaption is blocked.

OK report:
- Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 2 s.

Fault handling:
Type III

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help

Diagnosis regards:
- Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Activation of output for injector 3.
