Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Performance Problem

Fault symptom
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Cruise control not working.
- Limp home
- The engine speed drops more slowly than usual when the accelerator is released.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V.
- Accelerator pedal released
- Engine speed higher than 1300 rpm then down to idling speed.
- Engine load lower than 110 mg/c.

- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected:
- P0107, P0108.

Dependent:
- None

System reaction to a fault:
- Torque limited to max. 170Nm.
- Purge blocked.
- Boost pressure adaption is blocked and reset.
- Correction of mass air flow/combustion for fuel calculation is blocked.
- Limited acceleration and idle function.
- Cruise control blocked.
- Secondary air pump not active, if fitted.

OK report:
- Test 1 and Test 2 completed once and fault criteria not fulfilled.

Fault handling:
Type III
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.)

Diagnostic help

Diagnosis regards:
- Electrical fault in the component.
- Air leak between the throttle and inlet valves or an incorrectly adjusted intake cam.

IMPORTANT: The DTC may also be generated if the camshafts are incorrectly adjusted.

- In the event of a rapid release of the accelerator pedal, the intake pressure is checked to ensure that it is below 50 kPa.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:

Test value:
- Manifold absolute pressure sensor
