Supply voltage Too High







Fault symptom
- ABS warning lamp on
- TCS/ESP warning lamp comes on.
- Messages shown in SID.
- Steering column lock not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:
- Battery voltage exceeds 18.5 V for 0.5 s.

System reaction to a fault:
- No ABS function
- No TCS/ESP function

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help
- The DTC can be generated if a 24 V battery charger is used to charge the battery or if another vehicle with 24 V battery, e.g. a truck, has been used to help start the car.
