Steering angle sensor. Faulty signal







Fault symptom
- ESP warning lamp on.
- Messages shown in SID.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:

Test 1
- Ignition ON.

Test 2
- Engine running.
- Vehicle speed over 15 km/h

Test 3
- Ignition ON.

Test 4
- Engine running.
- Vehicle speed over 15 km/h
- Diagnostics runs when there is a speed difference between the wheel sensors.

Fault criteria:

Test 1
- Steering wheel angle sensor exceeds normal value for normal driving (3000 degrees/s)

Test 2
- The calculated steering angle compensation exceeds 18 degrees.

Test 3
- Steering angle exceeds ± 720 degrees.

Test 4
- Value of steering angle sensor is stuck.

System reaction to a fault:
- No ESP function

Diagnostic help
- The DTC is generated if the wheels are out of alignment.

Diagnostic help

Diagnosis regards:
- Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.
