Wheel Speed Mismatch







Fault symptom
- ABS warning lamp on
- TCS/ESP warning lamp comes on.
- Messages shown in SID.
- Steering column lock not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.
- Car rolling faster than 15 km/h without turning, braking or tyres spinning.

Fault criteria:
- Wheel speed between one wheel and the others differs by more than 25 %

System reaction to a fault:
- No ABS function
- No TCS/ESP function

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help
- The DTC can be generated if a wheel with a different circumference than the others is fitted.
