Yaw Rate Sensor Internal Failure







Fault symptom
- ESP warning lamp on.
- Messages shown in SID.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition on, car rolling faster than 15 km/h and more than 500 m during normal driving.

Fault criteria:
- Implausible signal from yaw angle sensor.
- Variation of more than 8 degrees/second

System reaction to a fault:
- No ESP function

Diagnostic help
- The sensor is a combined yaw angle sensor and lateral acceleration sensor.
