RH Stepper Motor Circuit, Open/Short to B+







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.
- Headlamp beam adjustment not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.
- Xenon lights on.
- Stepping motor activated.
- Battery voltage greater than 9 V.

Fault criteria:
- Control module output short-circuit to B+/open-circuit.

System reaction to a fault:
- Control module outputs to stepping motor switched off.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
