Axle Sensor Supply, Short to Ground







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.
- Headlamp beam adjustment not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.
- Xenon lights on.

Fault criteria:
- Control module output short-circuit to ground.

System reaction to a fault:
- Headlamp beam adjustment is switched off.
- Headlamp reflectors adjusted to a lower position.
- Outputs to height sensors switched off.

OK report:
- Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 1, 2 s.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
