Courtesy Light Failure







Fault symptom
- Courtesy lighting out of order.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- DTC generated when light comes on.

Enable criteria:
- Each time courtesy lights are activated.

Fault criteria:
- Control module output shorted to ground.

System reaction to a fault:
- Control module output deactivated during this driving cycle. When the ignition is in ON position, the output is activated once in order to check if the fault remains.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

- Electrical fault in connecting leads or component.
