Motor Seat Back Circuit, Current Too High







Fault symptom
- Memory functions not working
- Output is switched off, tries however to activate the engine once each time the ignition is switched on.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continually when the engine is run.

Enable criteria:
- When seat operation is permitted.

Fault criteria:
- Current consumption is more than 40A ± 6A.

System reaction to a fault:
- No memory functions work
- Output is switched off, tries however to activate the engine once each time the ignition is switched on.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

- Mechanical check of motor

- Motor, Seat Back Rearward
- Motor, Seat Back Forward
