Mirror Potentiometer Ground Circuit, Open







Fault symptom
- No memory function or retraction function for door mirrors. Manual setting works.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.
- Diagnostics run when power mirror is operated.
- NONE of the following DTCs must be detected:
- B1583, B1585, B1595

Fault criteria:
- If both potentiometer signals are invalid and diagnostic trouble codes B1585 and B1595 are not generated.

System reaction to a fault:
- No memory function or retraction function for door mirrors. Manual setting works.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
