Control Module. Internal fault







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.
- Engine does not start.
- Steering column lock not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Diagnostics runs when key is inserted.

Fault criteria:
- Control module on-board diagnostics has detected a "Timeout" fault.

System reaction to a fault:
- Steering column lock deactivated.
- The control module does not allow starter motor cranking.

Diagnostic help
- The DTC is reported from the ISM and can be generated if communication between the CIM and ISM is faulty.

- To locate electrical faults in the control module internal electronics.
