Control Module. Internal Fault







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.
- Cannot turn key.
- Engine does not start.
- Steering column lock not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Key in ignition switch.
- Diagnosis takes 65 minutes. If the control module enters into standby before diagnosis is complete, diagnosis is resumed the next time the control module wakes.

Fault criteria:
- Control module on-board diagnostics has detected a ROM error.

System reaction to a fault:
- The control module does not allow starter motor cranking.
- Steering column lock deactivated.
