Front Passenger Seat Position Sensor, Open/Short-circuit To B+







Fault symptom
- Airbag warning lamp is lit

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:
- Current in the sensor circuit is below 2 mA

System reaction to a fault:
- The airbag system should be considered non-operational. There may, however, be some functionality.
- Airbag warning lamp is lit

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help
- The DTC can be generated if a control module with the wrong part number is fitted in the vehicle.
