Wheel Speed RR, Wire from TCS/ESP, Short/Open







Fault symptom
- Messages shown in SID.
- Steering column lock not working.
- The ignition timing can be de-activated at any speed at all.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous

Enable criteria:
- Engine running.
- Car speed over 7 km/h

Fault criteria:
- Incorrect information from TCS/ESP.

System reaction to a fault:
- Steering column lock deactivated.

Checking the wiring harness
- Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.

Diagnostic help
- Diagnostic trouble code can be generated if one wheel has a rotation speed which is much higher than the others, such as when the handbrake is applied on ice. Carry out SPS programming if the software is older than: 12800185
