Valve Housing

To Remove

IMPORTANT: Automatic transmission up to and including 02GV 706486: The wiring harness must also be changed when changing the valve housing so it suits the new one.

1. Remove the Valve housing cover
2. Unplug the solenoids and temperature sensor.





3. Slacken the bolts with 10 mm heads securing the valve housing.

NOTE: Start with the two retaining bolts at the bottom left that secure the cover to the oil duct and save the two top bolts until last. The bolts are different lengths.

IMPORTANT: The passages are filled with transmission fluid.

4. Carefully detach the manual valve from the selector lever out of the retaining eye and carefully lift out the valve housing.

NOTE: Make sure that the two O-rings fitted inside the valve housing do not fall out.

Fitting

IMPORTANT: Automatic transmission up to and including 02GV 706486: The wiring harness must also be changed when changing the valve housing so it suits the new one.

1. Lift the valve housing into position.

NOTE: Carefully move the selector lever's arm into place and fit the valve housing on the transmission.





2. Fit the valve housing.
Tightening torque 7 Nm (5 ft. lbs.)

NOTE: The bolts are different lengths.

3. Plug in the solenoids and fit the temperature sensor.
4. Fit the valve housing cover.
