Fault symptoms

Warning light "CHECK GEARBOX" on

It is not possible to change gear with the steering wheel controls

Conditions
^ Battery voltage between 9 and 16V
^ Ignition on

Fault criteria
The voltage at the input exceeds 6.7V +0.8V for 30 seconds or alternatively is less than 0.2V +0.1V for 30 seconds.

Diagnostic help
The status of the steering wheel controls can be read using the diagnostic tool.

Check the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the various leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument while carrying out this check.
