Fault symptoms

CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp on.

TCM in Limp-Home mode.

Conditions
Selector lever position L, 3, 4 or D

Fluid temperature over 20°C

Engine speed over 400 rpm

Fault criteria
When driving in fourth or fifth gear:

Calculated gear ratio is equivalent to third gear *4 %

Diagnostic help
The control module calculates the ratio between input and output speed. This ratio has a specific value in each gear and depends on the gear ratio. The diagnostic trouble code indicates that a fault has developed in solenoid S3.
