Oil Temperature. Range/Performance Malfunction.





Fault symptoms

CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp is on.

No lock-up function.

Conditions
P0711: Engine speed exceeding 400 rpm, selector lever in Drive position

Fault criteria
P0711: During the first 15 minutes of driver, the fluid temperature increases or decreases less than 5°C.

Diagnostic help
The diagnostic tool can be used to read the transmission fluid temperature. If the temperature sensor is working properly, the diagnostic tool will show the current temperature. P or N must not be selected during testing as this will reset the timer for diagnostic trouble codes.

When diagnostic trouble code P0711 is generated, P0218 is also generated.

Do not take measures for P0218.

Check the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the various leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument while carrying out this check.
