Checking Air Leakage After Flap

Checking Air Leakage After Flap

Check whether:
^ the purge valve is airtight
^ faulty brake servo
^ crankcase ventilation is airtight.
^ Check that no air leakage occurs in the vacuum hoses.

Pinch off one hose at a time and observe the diagnostic tool's display to determine whether a leak occurs. It is OK if crankcase ventilation gives an increment of about 5% via the thin hose.

The other hoses must not give any noticeable increment. Note that the evap canister purge valve's electrical connection must be disconnected for this check.
