Front Load Angle Sensor, Open circuit, shortage to B+/ground
WARNING
^ HIGH TENSION
The AHL control module and xenon headlamp ignition transformer generate voltages in excess of 23 000 V. This voltage is potentially lethal to individuals with a weak heart or pacemaker. Treat this system with great respect and turn off the ignition before working on the system's components.
^ Read through Safety and handling instructions, headlamps with xenon bulbs before starting.
Fault symptoms
WARNING lamp on in MIU.
Enable criteria
Xenon lamp on.
Fault criteria
Incorrect signal from front load angle sensor.
System reaction to a fault
In case of a fault in the signal from the front load angle sensor, the headlamp reflectors will be controlled by the rear load angle sensor only for as long as the fault persists.
Checking the wiring harness
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool during the test.
Diagnostic help
The diagnostic trouble codes can also be generated if the load angle sensor is incorrectly fitted.
Check that the load angle sensor is correctly fitted before starting fault diagnosis.
