B0084 Driver Seat Position Sensor circuit,open circuit or short to ground/B+










Fault symptoms
Airbag warning lamp on.

Conditions
Ignition ON

Fault criteria
Position sensor circuit short-circuited to ground/B+ or open circuit.

System reaction to a fault
If a fault should occur in the position sensor circuit, the control module will not be able to determine the seat in which the fault occurred. The control module will therefore turn off stage 2 of the steering wheel airbag.

Diagnostic help
The position of the seat can be read using the diagnostic tool (front and rear position).

The DTC can be generated if a control module with the wrong part number is fitted in the vehicle.
