Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair



Brake Servo, LHD
To Remove
1. Fit 82 93 706 Wing cover.
2. Remove the Hydraulic unit, TCS/ESP.
3. Remove the Master cylinder.
4. Remove the Acoustic baffle, driver.






5. Remove the brake pedal's pivot pin.
6. Position a jack underneath the engine. Unscrew the bolts for the left-hand engine mounting and lower the engine approx. 20 mm.






7. Remove the vacuum hose from the brake servo.
8. Remove the brake servo bolts.
9. Remove the brake servo from the bulkhead wall.

To Fit
1. Replace the brake servo gasket.






2. Fit the brake servo. Apply threadlock to the brake servo bolts using 74 96 268 Thread locking adhesive. Fit the brake servo bolts.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm
3. Fit the vacuum hose to the brake servo.
4. Lift up the engine. Fit the engine mounting bolts.
Tightening torque: 70 Nm +45° (52 ft. lbs. + 45°)






5. Fit the brake pedal's pivot pin.
6. Fit the Acoustic baffle, driver.
7. Fit the Master cylinder.
8. Fit the Hydraulic unit, TCS/ESP
9. Remove the 82 93 706 Wing cover.
