Body - Passenger Door Can't Be Opened

Background

On certain cars the travel length of the inner door handle's opening cable is incorrect. This may mean that the passenger door cannot be opened after closing a locked passenger door.

In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

Symptom description

Passenger door cannot be opened.

Procedure

1. Pull the inner door handle out to the end position and release the handle so that it returns by means of spring force.

2. Remove the passenger door trim, in accordance with WIS - 8. Body - Interior equipment - Adjustment/Replacement - Door trim, CV.

3. Modify the inner door handle retaining clip as illustrated, use pincers.




4. Fit the door trim, in accordance with WIS - 8. Body - Interior equipment - Adjustment/Replacement - Door trim, CV.
